A Matter of Strength in Native American Culture
North American Natives have a life philosophy based in nature, and believe that every object, even inanimate ones, have a soul, and regard everything in nature as sacred. The bear, being the strongest animal in nature, symbolizes absolute power and invincibility.
It is a Matter of… While bears symbolize rudeness and poor manners in our culture, they are viewed in a more positive light in other cultures, in part because of their strength. For example, to bear up means to remain brave under a mental or emotional burden. So to call someone a bear can also be seen as a compliment.
With this symbol representing strength and resilience in the face of challenges, and staying strong even under difficult circumstances, you can give this gift as a compliment to your loved ones, or as a wish for them not to be defeated by their weaknesses. When you think of a “motivational gift, illness gift, get well soon gift, 'Mashallah' gift, anniversary gift, birthday gift” this is the first thing that comes to mind.

And so this is why we have Mesele!
A PERSONAL MATTER
I believe that to be successful, you need to find a matter that you believe in. For the past 20 years I have seen Turkey export, its wealth to the rest of the world in the form of its quality raw materials, which have been more appreciated abroad than in our own country, a fact which has always saddened me. My personal matter has been to take our cultural richness, along with our high quality and original materials, and combine them with traditional methods practised for thousands of years and gives better results even than today’s technology to create a new brand.
A UNIVERSAL MATTER
The need to express ourselves and to attribute meaning to objects is an integral part of our existence. It is for this reason that the first humans drew paintings on cave walls. It is for this reason that Anatolian Kilims have used the same symbols for the past four thousand years. It is for this reason that all natives and tribes, from the Aborigines to the Vikings, that every civilization has its own unique symbols. Irrespective of geography, race or language, symbols represent mankind’s need to express itself. The forms have changed, but not our needs; perhaps this is a reminder of how similar to each other we really are...
A MATTER OF SUSTAINABILITY
We consume. Without a break, without thinking, even while we are breathing, we are always consuming. We consume believing that everything has been created for us. Do you believe that we can at least start consuming without destroying? We are trying to keep alive traditional fabrics and objects, and the traditional methods from our ancestors, along with crafts and the craftsmanship. Yes, the days are now much shorter, and time moves much faster. But this has also increased the value of owning something special. So what do you say, instead of just going with the flow, why not try changing the times?
